For Ami Counseling

Starting therapy is a meaningful step, and our goal is to make the process clear, supportive, and grounded from the start.

Here’s what you can expect as we begin working together.

01

GET IN TOUCH

Start by filling out the contact form on the website. You can share what you’re navigating right now or simply let me know you’re interested in beginning therapy. This gives me a clear starting point and helps me understand how to best support you moving forward. Please allow up to 24 hours for us to get back to you.

02

schedule your first session

Once we’ve connected, and reviewed your goals, we will schedule your intake session. In addition, you’ll receive access to the secure client portal where you can complete your intake forms.

03

your first session

Our first session is a chance to settle in, get to know one another, and understand what brings you to therapy. There’s no pressure — just a supportive space to explore your story, your goals, and what healing looks like for you.

04

collaborative healing plan

Together, we’ll create a personalized plan grounded in your needs and comfort. This may include talk therapy, grounding techniques, or EMDR/Brainspotting as an optional modality. Your healing journey is collaborative, and we move at your pace.

05

Growth you can feel

As we continue, you’ll begin noticing shifts — more clarity, more grounding, more trust in yourself. Therapy becomes a consistent place for reflection, support, and transformation. Healing unfolds gently, and you won’t walk it alone.

06

as your story unfolds

As you grow, your needs may shift — and your therapy can shift with you. We’ll regularly reflect on what’s working, what’s changing, and what you may need next. Some clients continue with ongoing support, while others transition out once they feel grounded and empowered. Together, we’ll make sure your therapy journey stays aligned, meaningful, and right for where you are.

If You’re Hoping for Care That Feels Like This…

Here’s how therapy with me often feels for the clients who find their fit here:

Healing isn’t about becoming someone new it’s about returning to the parts of you that were always worthy of care. Healing isn’t about becoming someone new it’s about returning to the parts of you that were always worthy of care.

Common Questions

We offer both online and in-person sessions so you can show up in the way that feels most gentle and supportive for this season of your life. Whether we meet virtually or sit together in person, our heart is to create a space where you feel seen, safe, and cared for as you move toward healing and wholeness.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to start therapy. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, hurt, or simply curious about understanding yourself more deeply, therapy can be a supportive place to begin. We’ll explore your needs together and decide what approach feels most helpful for you.

Yes — We do offer Christian/Biblically-integrated counseling for clients who want it, but it’s never required. We meet you exactly where you are. Some clients prefer to include their faith in the process, and others prefer a completely clinical approach. Both are welcome, and you are honored either way.

We do not accept insurance at this time. If your insurance provides out-of-network benefits, we can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement. We are always happy to walk you through what that process looks like.

Traditional sessions are 50 minutes, but extended sessions are also available if you’re looking for more time and support.

Cancellations or appointment changes must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed sessions, will be charged the full session fee.
